FBI warning about Geotags, property theft and identity theft

In this NBC News report, John Brosnan speaks about photos and how they could lead to property theft and identity theft.

“You’re providing where you work, where you shop, all these things are giving an individual an ability to build a profile that they might be able to utilize to victimize you, for instance in identity theft.”

The reporter suggested a solution – to disable Geotagging on your photos. But by doing so, you also lose the ability to organise your photos by location.

A much easier way to protect yourself is to use ScramPhoto. You’ll still be able to take your photos with Geotags and to organise your albums easily, but the location data just won’t be shared with the outside world. You can also protect your photos with watermarks and copyright messages. And you can get ScramPhoto for free!
